EmailArchitect Email Server provides the following services:
SMTP Service
POP3 Service
IMAP4 Service
Remote Object Call Service
Web Mail Service
Realtime Black List Service
Anti-Spam Service
Anti-Virus Service
LIST Service
Traffic Service
To manage the above services, you need to logon Web Access as "system" user and then click "Services". On "Services" page you can start/ stop services, monitor or terminate sessions of services. Web Mail Service can't be stopped through Web Access. To stop it, select "World Wide Web Publishing" Service from "Control Panel -> Services" and press "Stop" button. Warning: Once this service is stopped, Web Access is no longer available. You are not able to manage EmailArchitect Email Server without Web Mail Service activated.
IP Addresses Binding
By default, SMTP/POP3/IMAP4/Remote Object Call services listen on all IP addresses of the server. To make the service to listen on specified IP address, you can change the IP Address field like this:
Wildcard(*,?) and CIDR with IP Address
In SMTP/POP3/IMAP4/RBLs/Anti-Spam/Remote Object Call Services, there is an option named Connection Control , Relay Restrictions or other IP addresses list . In the IP addresses list, you can use wildcard (*) to represent a group of IP addresses. e.g. 192.168.0.*, 192.*, ::*. CIDR syntax can be used as well. e.g. 192.168.0.1/16 represents a group IP addresses from 192.168.0.1~192.168.255.255.
EmailArchitect Super Service
All services of EmailArchitect Email Server are provided by EmailArchitect Super Service, you can locate it in "Control Panel -> Services". To terminate all services of EmailArchitect Email Server, select the service and press "Stop" button.
Troubleshooting
If SMTP, POP3, IMAP4 or Remote Object Call Service can't start, it is likely that there is another application using SMTP (25, 465), POP3 (110, 995), IMAP4 (143, 993) or Remote Object Call (7328) port. In this case, you need to stop that application and restart SMTP, POP3 or Remote Object Call service.
Here is a list of applications/ services that may use SMTP, POP3 or IMAP4 port: IIS SMTP Service, POP3 Service on Windows 2003, Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes or other Email Servers.
If Web Access can't be accessed, select "Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Internet Information Services" and start that service.
Incoming Ports in Windows Firewall and Router
To make the server sending/receiving email correctly, you should open the following incoming ports in your windows firewall and router.
