Hi there, I am trying to get a legacy email client working (year 2001). POP is working perfectly but the SMTP is failing to authenticate even though all the credentials are correct and the user is not showing an error. Tests also authenticate fine. The SMTP log shows: [20:27:04.656:LS] 500 user authentication required [20:27:04.656:Verbose] Client or remote server closed the connection. [20:27:04.656:Warning] A socket operation failed because the destination host was down [20:27:04.656:Verbose] Client disconnected. Would be grateful for any help, thank you - also wondering if there is a license code available for purchase for a single user/person? (ie: not for a company)

Hi Bonnie
from the log, it looks like your SMTP client doesn't set user authentication. Does your legacy SMTP application support user authentication.
