When I use the VB6 Sample project profided, both Simple and HTML, the development system completely crashes.

1. After installing the EASendMailObj.dll is not updated in the System32 folder. So, I copied the file over the existing file and used regsvr32 to register it. It responded "Registered successfully."

What might be causing this?

Best regards,
John

Hi John,

Since Windows XP, it is not recommended that you install the third-parties DLL to system32 folder.
After you installed EASendMail, the DLL is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\EASendMail\Lib\native\x86, the installer will regsvr32 the DLL in the folder, you don't have to copy it to system32 folder.

Thanks for the reply.

This an XP VM environment.
I tried using it after the original installation of the update, with the same results. It was only after if crashed several times that I copied and manually registered.

How do I fix this?
Do I have a conflict between the 2 versions: 6.1 and 7.9?
How do I select the newly installed dll reference in the VB project?

I guess your old license doesn't work with new version, in this case, you have to use old one.
